Enrica Bridgewater, MS

Enrica is a PhD Candidate in two programs at the University of Michigan: Communication and Media and Developmental Psychology. Her research centers on representations of minoritized groups in entertainment media and how media influence behavioral and psychological outcomes across the lifespan.

Addie is a graduate of UNC and a rising J.D. candidate at Cardozo School of Law. Her undergraduate thesis research focused on state regulations regarding children’s social media use.

Sirius Brown, aka Bruno

Bruno joined the FaMLab in 2018 and has been offering moral support and entertainment to its members ever since. He is a pathological extrovert and loves cheese.

Kelley is Assistant Professor of Clinical Nutrition at Oakland University in Rochester, MI. Her research focuses on how weight and nutrition coverage in the media are related to healthy eating behaviors along with disordered eating and weight stigma.

Monique is Professor of Psychology at the University of Michigan. She one of the world’s foremost developmental psychologists studying media use among adolescents and its connection with sexuality and racial identity.

Jessica is Assistant Professor of Communication at Wayne State University. She studies the media’s role in shaping Black women’s expectations of romantic relationships.

El is a rising senior in the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at UNC. He is a collaborator on the Representation Matters Project and spending summer 2023 filming a documentary about family media use in Utah.

Kristen is a PhD Candidate at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on how marginalized communities conceptualize and are impacted by traumatic media both psychologically and physically.
